“Surtiyan”, refers to the space between two known notes on a musical scale, a liminal. Capturing images from a DIY pinhole camera, the photo-book investigates a rupture, thinking of the edge where light meets its shadow, as a progenitor of existential crisis, historical sums and structural fissures. Within it, new modes of thinking about life, material, light, shadow, start to emerge, and reimagine our relationships with objects, humans, and knowledge. 

The book is made of pinhole photographs, taken on both photo-negative and photo-positive paper.
